Christmas In Boston

I arrived in Boston last night to spend this Christmas with the family.  Words can't express the joy I felt getting to see my baby boy awake and smiling.  I had only seen pictures of him awake since I had last left him about two weeks ago when he was still sedated.

Mr. Gage looks at first glance like he's ready to go home however, his breathing rate is noticeably fast when you look at his chest movement. He's also still having a problem keeping down his feeds. These two problems will prevent Gage from him being discharged and spending Christmas at the house.  They will be scheduling a time possibly next week when they can perform an endoscopy and get a better look at his digestive tract.

The doctors still don't seem to have much of an answer as to why his breathing rate has increased. The echo results showed that his heart function had declined slightly. For now, they're trying to adjust his meds to see if things will improve. With the holiday, we can expect that there won't be much in the way of updates until next week. I'll post a few photos later tonight.
