Crawling, Standing, and Soon To Be Walking

Gage has been making significant progress catching up to where he should be physically. He's been crawling for about the last month.  He'll often do a combination of scoots and crawls to get where he wants to go. Crawl ten paces, stop and look around, scoot, scoot, scoot, crawl ten more paces is how he does it.  When there's food involved, Mr. Gage wastes no time to speed crawl over to where the goodies are. He reminds of a grizzly bear walking with big strides and straight arms.

He's been practicing his standing and this week started squatting often. Today for the first time, he stood up all on his own and remained standing for about three or four seconds.  I suspect it'll only be a few more weeks before he's trying to take some steps.  Mommy has been helping him practice by holding his hands and walking with him in between her legs allowing him to get a feel for the motions.

Gage slept in his crib in his room for the first time last night. It was a rough night and hard to tell if it's just a phase or if he's uncomfortable being in a new place.  Perhaps a little of both even.  It's definitely a great feeling to see him sleep in his crib though. For me it helps solidify the fact that he's home to stay for a while and that everything is going to be okay.  It's very special thing getting to be together as a family.
